Prado Museum

Day 1-Madrid

  • Arrive in Madrid and meet your tour leader.

  • Transfer to hotel.

  • Visit Puerta del Sol, then walk to Plaza Mayor to take in the historic heart of the city.

  • Late Afternoon – Royal Palace Area
    Walk to the Royal Palace of Madrid (exterior) and visit Almudena Cathedral (free entry). Enjoy views from the nearby gardens.

  • Early Evening – La Latina
    Wander La Latina’s streets and plazas for atmosphere and budget-friendly tapas.

  • Sunset – Temple of Debod
    End the day at the Temple of Debod for one of Madrid’s best free sunset views.

Day 2-Madrid/Segovia

  • Start your day with an early bus or regional train to Segovia

  • Walk along the Roman Aqueduct

  • Explore Segovia’s Old Town streets

  • View the Alcázar of Segovia from the outside (interior optional)

  • Lunch – Segovia Old Town
    Grab a simple café or bakery lunch to stay on budget.

  • Early Afternoon – Return to Madrid

  • Evening – Malasaña
    Explore Malasaña for street art, vintage shops, and affordable casual dining.

Day 3-Madrid

  • Morning  walk through El Retiro Park, visit the Crystal Palace, and relax by the lake.

  • Late Morning – Free Museum Time
    Choose one during free-entry hours:

    • Prado Museum

    • Reina Sofía Museum

    • Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum

  • Lunch – Picnic or Market
    Pick up food from a bakery or supermarket for a picnic-style lunch.

  • Afternoon – Lavapiés Walk
    Explore Lavapiés for murals, local life, and multicultural food spots.

Day 4-Madrid/Lisbon

  • Arrive from Madrid early morning. Drop bags at your accommodation.

  • Quick breakfast/snack: try a pastel de nata (~€1).

  • Afternoon / Early Evening:

  • Explore Baixa & Chiado neighborhoods:

  • Walk Rua Augusta, admire Arco da Rua Augusta and Rossio Square.

  • Short stroll to Miradouro de Santa Catarina for city views.

  • Dinner in Bairro Alto or Cais do Sodré (look for “prato do dia” under €10–12).

Day 5-Lisbon/Sintra

  • Morning Pickup to Sintra

  • Tour begins ~8:30–9:00 AM from your hotel or a central Lisbon meeting point.

  • Stops Included:

  • Scenic Overlook / Miradouro – quick photo stop overlooking Sintra hills.

  • Sintra Highlights:

  • Pena Palace (walk around exterior; optional entry)

  • Castle of the Moors (short stop for photos)

  • Historic Sintra Village – stroll cobblestone streets, enjoy pastel or snack.

  • Quinta da Regaleira – explore gardens, grottoes, and Initiation Well.

  • Cabo da Roca (optional) – westernmost point of continental Europe, photo stop.

  • Cascais & Estoril – walk the old town, marina, or beach; lunch at own cost.

  • Evening:

  • Return to Lisbon early evening (~6–7 PM).

  • Dinner near accommodation.

Day 6-Lisbon

  • Morning visit to Belém Tower (free from outside)

  • Jerónimos Monastery (optional €10 entry)

  • Pastéis de Belém (€1.50 each)

  • Afternoon:

  • Alfama District:

  • Walk winding streets, enjoy views from Miradouro de Santa Luzia

  • Visit Lisbon Cathedral (Sé) (free entry)

  • Optional: explore Museu do Fado (€5 entry) if interested in music history

  • Evening:

  • Walk along Praça do Comércio by the river.

  • Dinner at a local tasca with budget-friendly meals (~€10–12).
